Save Sun City Center (Save SCC) is launching a new monthly community initiative called Second Saturdays The first open house will be held July 11.
The program will bring community members together with Save SCC leadership on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon in the Armstrong Room of SCC’s North Campus Atrium Building, 1009 N. Pebble Beach Blvd. The open house events will run through Dec. 12 with dates scheduled for July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.
Each monthly gathering is an opportunity for residents to meet directly with Save SCC leaders, ask questions and get involved in volunteer efforts to protect Sun City Center from possible future golf course development. Attendees can pick up promotional materials, including official Save SCC T-shirts, yard signs and window clings to help promote the cause throughout the community.

n addition, the meetings will promote the sharing of important past and current documents that SCC residents may have stored away. Residents are encouraged to bring materials, such as past brochures, home closing documents or other marketing information, that could be relevant and critical information in any legal fight between Save SCC and ClubLink. All information will be scanned safely and securely on site and then returned immediately to residents.
Canada-based ClubLink has closed multiple golf courses in Sun City Center and Kings Point since the company took over ownership of the properties in 2010. Currently, five of the seven courses are closed, and ClubLink has said it intends to partner with home builders to develop portions of the golf course properties. Save SCC was formed to protect the community’s golf courses from any future housing development on those closed golf courses.
