For more than 10 years, Holly Wagner has been a dedicated part of The Observer News, helping tell the stories of the people, organizations and events that make the SouthShore community special.
As editor, Wagner has a passion for community journalism and works hard each week to bring readers positive, informative and uplifting local news. She believes a community newspaper should be more than a source of information — it should celebrate neighbors, recognize accomplishments, support local organizations and businesses, and shine a light on the people who quietly make a difference.
Wagner says one of the things she loves most about her work is the opportunity to connect with the community. Whether she is sharing the story of a local volunteer, highlighting a nonprofit organization, covering a community celebration or helping promote an upcoming event, she takes pride in making sure local voices have a place in the newspaper.
After more than a decade with The Observer News, Wagner considers the newspaper and the community it serves an important part of her life. She loves the company, the people she works with and the relationships she has built with readers throughout the years.
Outside of the newspaper, family is at the heart of Wagner’s life. She and her husband have been married for 36 years and are the parents of five children and grandparents of four.
For Wagner, being editor of The Observer News is more than a job. It is an opportunity to serve the community she loves.
