The Pelican Players Community Theater will present “Who’s in Bed with the Butler?” Nov. 13-15 at the Kings Point North Clubhouse Veterans Theater, 1900 Clubhouse Drive, Sun City Center.
This madcap comedy by award-winning author Michael Parker is filled with nonstop mayhem, double entendres and witty situations sure to keep you laughing from start to finish.
A wealthy California billionaire passes away, leaving his fortune to his daughter, Constance. Unbeknownst to her, he has willed his $22-million yacht, a $25-million art collection and some priceless antique automobiles to three mysterious women.
When Constance and her lawyer arrive at the mansion to contest the will or buy the women off, she learns the valuables have vanished and the three sultry ladies were her father’s lovers. Chaos ensues.
“Everyone loves a fun, TV sitcom, something with no big plot or story,” said director Julie Ramsey. “Who’s in Bed with the Butler?” is a delightful way for audiences to spend an evening laughing and getting away from it all.”
The cast includes Jack Parry as Clifton, the butler; Susie Potratz as Agnes; Diane Keyes as Susie Legere; Alesia Bischoff as Connie; Kevin Steinke as Vance; Wayne Keyes as William Davis Jr.; Carol MacAlister as Renee LaFleur; Lucy Malacos as Josephine Sykes; and Michele Horvath as Marjorie Merivale.
Ruth Lake is the stage manager.
“Directing this wonderfully seasoned cast has been a joy,” Ramsey said. “Their experience, talent and willingness to embrace the crazy physical comedy and lightning-fast pace of farce make this production truly special. They prove there is no barrier to laughter, creativity or having a great time on stage.”
Audiences from Sun City Center and surrounding communities will have four opportunities to see the play: Friday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before curtain.
