<p>Carl “Herb” West, 84, passed away in Ruskin on February 25, 2010.<br />He graduated in 1943 from Niagara High School and joined the Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific as a parachute rigger. He volunteered at the VA hospital at Iron Mountain for many years, and was a life member of the American Legion. He worked at the paper mill and retired in 1985. His hobbies were wood working and crafts.<br />He is survived by his wife Anne of 62 years and a few nephews and nieces.<br />Memorial services will be held in the spring in Niagara, Wisconsin. He will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by all who knew and loved him.</p>
