John R. Phelps

John R. Phelps, born on May 2, 1909, passed away on March 4, 2010. Phelps, a teacher of instrumental music in Detroit, MI, served as organist at the Sun City Center United Methodist Church, as Director of Johnny’s Angels choral group, and held membership in many Sun City Center clubs.<br />He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy, and his daughter, Janis. He is survived by his daughter, Nancie, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. <br />Memorial gifts may be sent to the Emergency Squad or United Methodist Church Music Department, both of Sun City Center.
