Earl C. Osewalt

Osewalt, 77, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on August 22, 2015.
Earl was born in Philipsburg, Pa. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and was retired from the General Motors Tonawanda Engine Plant.
He was predeceased by son Robert A Osewalt; brother Wm. Boyd Herbert; and sister Gertrude A Harpster.
Survivors include Shirley (Litzinger) Osewalt, his wife of 25 years; sons James C. Osewalt and Ronald D. Osewalt; stepsons George (Peggy) Kunch and Brian Kunch; stepdaughter Jennifer (Dean) Swanson; granddaughter Crystal (Tim) Ollam; great-granddaughter Nicole Ollam; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brothers Thomas Vaughn and George Herbert; and sisters Molly (JR) Hockenberry, Ginger Way and Lora (Joe) Mariotti.
Earl received a heart and kidney transplant in Birmingham, Ala., in February 2003. We are very grateful to the donor family who helped to extend his life by many years.

<h3>‘Buddy’ Sheldon Surloff</h3>
Buddy Surloff
“Buddy” Sheldon Surloff passed away on August 25, 2015. Sheldon was born on May 20, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and lived the majority of his life in Miami and Pembroke Pines, Fla. After retiring, he moved to Sun City Center, where he lived for nine years and pursued his passion for golf, cruising around in his beloved Steelers golf cart.
He was the son of the late Ruth and Kenneth Surloff. He is survived by daughter Gayle Borgen and son-in-law Jeffrey Borgen; grandchildren Jada and Garrett Borgen; friend Carol; and siblings Stan Surloff, Alan Surloff and Barbara Gainsford; in addition to extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LifePath Hospice of Sun City Center.

<h3>Michael C. Raf<b>f</b></h3>
Michael C. Raff, 74, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away suddenly on August 22, 2015, while hiking in the Hillsborough River State Park.
Mike was born in Neptune, N.J., the son of Charles H. and Helen Marie Raff. He grew up in Little Silver, N.J., was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Monmouth College, and later obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland. He served in the New Jersey National Guard from 1965 to 1973. He worked as Certified Public Accountant, auditor and Certified Financial Planner in private industry before moving to Maryland, where he taught business and accounting at Prince George’s Community College for years. He retired in 2000, moving to Sun City Center.
Michael is survived by long-time friend and companion Dr. Constance Grant; sister Mary Potter and her husband John; nephew Lt. John W. Potter and his wife Sara; niece Susanna Potter; nephew Charles Potter, his wife Helen and their son James; and by stepmother Amely Patricia Elliott.
Michael loved the outdoors and was an active member of the Sierra Club and Freedom Boat Club. He was also an organizer and leader of Sun City Center bicycle, kayaking and hiking clubs. In lieu of flowers, memorial Mass may be said at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
A Memorial Service was held Aug. 28 at Sun City Center Funeral Home.
