The funeral service was held Oct. 21 at Light of Christ Anglican Church in Denver. A Committal service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Rudy grew up in Ruskin and lived there until he enlisted in the Army at age 18, where he worked as a military technician/mechanic. He settled down in Colorado Springs, where he married and raised his beautiful children. He served for 31 years.
Rudy was a respected man and always inspired others to be better. He wasn’t just a friend, but a role model and mentor as well.
He is survived by his mother Martha Hernandez; sisters MaryAnn Mungia, Martha Ruiz, Rosemary Lorenzo, Chris Cavazos, Selina Cardenas, Reena Carrejo and Liza Reyes; brother Rumaldo Reyes; wife Andrea Martinez; son Christopher Ruiz; daughters Stephanie Martinez, Aracelys Martinez and Yarelys Martinez; and grandson Hayden Ruiz.

<h3>Nellie ‘Connie’ Strunc</h3>
Nellie “Connie” Strunc, 101, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away October 4, 2015. Connie and husband Johnny moved to Sun City Center in 1978 from Cleveland, Ohio. Connie was an avid golfer, bowler and proud matriarch of the family.
She was preceded in death by husband Johnny, and by siblings Al, Stella, Joe, Bob and Alice.
Survivors include daughters Karen Opalek and JoAnn Bolek; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd. in Sun City Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the charity of your choice.
