Marie M. Davis, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on December 7, 2015. Born February 22, 1927, in Cecil, Ga., she moved to Hillsborough County when she was a young girl.
A lifelong resident of Hillsborough County, she owned Marie’s Beauty Salon in Sun City Center for over 40 years. She was a member of Wimauma Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Davis, and daughter Cynthia Quiroz.
She is survived by daughter Betty Jo Brannon. Also surviving are grandchildren Rhonda and Kevin Rimes, Stacy and Hal Polhill, and Michelle Gilkes; great-grandaughters Erika Thornton, Victoria Parker and Maranda Goolsby; great-grandsons Ryan Garza, Marlon Gilkes and Julian Gilkes; and great-great-grandchildren Blair Parker, Chevie Parker and Develen Parker.
Per her request, a small graveside service was held Wednesday, Dec. 9. It was officiated by Rev. Richard Hosea. She was laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Garden of Memory, Tampa.
