<img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-11988" src="/assets/images/uploads/wp/2015/12/flag-in-color-150x150.gif" alt="flag-in-color" width="150" height="150" />Walter Lee Wight, 84, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 under the care of Sun City Center Hospice House, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Benton, Ark., on September 20, 1931, Walter was a retired engineer for DuPont Chemical Company, a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a Deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.
Walter is survived by Carolyn Wight, his wife of 62 years; daughter Debra (Jay) Virtue of St. Louis, Mo.; son Douglas (Cindy) Wight of Midlothian, Va.; and sisters Elva Doling and Velma Clark.
Walter is also survived by six grandchildren: Ben, Daniel, Mary, Jacob, Madeline and Sam; and great-grandchildren Jonathan and Mabel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, Sun City Center.
Inurnment will be in Little Flock Cemetery, Little Flock, Ark., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sun City Center Funeral Home.
