Mary Mattei
Mary L. Mattei, aged 95, lately of Roslindale, Mass., and Sun City Center, Fla., died February 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her children, Anna, Guido (Eileen), Isa, Karina, Mary, Robert (Lisa), and Laura (Lamar); grandchildren Zachary, Joshua and Serafine Mattei-Lownes, and Alyssa Mattei; sister Mae Passarelle (Ralph); and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Guido, and her son, Arthur.
Everyone who crossed Mary’s path realized she was special woman. One left her company feeling cared about. This is her most enduring legacy. Mary enjoyed life fully at Sun City Center. She and her beloved Guido traveled the country for 20 years in an RV, visiting friends and relatives en route. Mary lived by simple aphorisms: “One day at a time” and “You can only do what you can do.” We will honor her memory by adopting her wise words.
A funeral mass was held last Saturday at the Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, Mass.
