Emily Marino Florio

Emily Marino Florio, passes at age 88 in her home Friday evening, July 29, 2016 at 11:10 p.m.
Emily was born in Aquara, Italy on July 10, 1927 to parents Antonio and Theresa Inglesa. She married World War II veteran, Vincent A. Marino of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. In 1947, she arrived at the N.Y. harbor and settled in Poughkeepsie and later in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
Emily was a loving mother to three children, Antoinette Black, Vincent Marino and John Marino. She was a loving grandmother of Dana Marino, Michelle Schiessie, Jenna Marino and Christopher Marino. Emily was also a loving great-grandmother to Julianna, Jayda, Jocelyn, Brittany and Brinaye.
In addition to her husband Emilio Florio, she is survived by her sister Linda Marino, brother-in-law Paul Marino, nephews Paul, Raymond and Anthony Marino. Also, her sister Connie Petroccitto, Connie’s husband Joseph Petroccitto and her niece Lisa Pendleton.
Emily grew up on a farm in Italy and was a master gardener and seamstress. She was a natural born Italian cook and loved cooking for all who met her. She loved attending Mass and taking care of cat, Bella.
A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
