Shirley L. Crist

Shirley Leota Fagan Kruse Crist was born in Akron, Ohio, on January 15, 1919, to George Brandt Fagan and Inez Pearl Strickland. She passed away September 23, 2016, in Tucson, Ariz. Interment will be at the Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Peninsula, Ohio.

Shirley owned her own interior decorating company for over 24 years, which went hand in hand with her passion for art.

Shirley started teaching art in Ohio, then St. Petersburg, then Florida Keys and finally in Sun City Center, Florida. She was commissioned in 1986 by the 187<sup>th</sup> Army Airborne Museum in Nashville, Tenn., to paint four oil portraits of Medal of Honor recipients, which are exhibited in the museum.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, her brother Clyde B. Fagan, her sister Alice A. Lockhart and her husband Carl E. Kruse. Surviving are her two children; Roberta J. Harmon of Tucson, Arizona and Ronald B. Kruse of Concord, North Carolina. Also still living are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the caregivers of Pacifica who gave her such loving care.
