Richard H. Young Sr.

Richard H. Young Sr., 95 of Sun City Center, Fla., died peacefully on October 2, 2016, in Sun Terrace nursing home one day after his 95th birthday. He was born in Waltham, Mass., and resided there for most of his life until relocating to Sun City Center in the 1980s. He was a graduate of Holden High School, Holden Mass., class of 1939. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Ruth Young and his beloved son-in-law Thomas McFarland. He is survived by son Rick Young (Margaret) of Waltham Mass., and daughter Judith McFarland of Sun City Center, his grandchildren, Kristin McFarland, Brad McFarland and his great-grandsons, Travis Gardner and Connor Charest, and also his companion, Doris Block. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was retired from Allstate Insurance Company where he was proudly one of the first Allstate Agents in Massachusetts back in the 1960s. He enjoyed spending time on his boat on Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire and playing golf as a member of Falcon Watch Golf Club in Kings Point for many years. He will join his wife Ruth and many family members at Mt. Feake cemetery in Waltham Mass., on November 25, 2016. Donations are welcome at the charity of your choice.
