Wayne T. Bensman

Wayne Trueman Bensman, age 90, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away October 11, 2016. He was retired as a Doctor of Optometry; served in the Air Force during WWII; and was a valued member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 35-plus years in Chicago, Bradenton and Sun City Center. He was also a golfer for many years and received awards for making two holes in one. He was very proud to have also served in the Sun City Center Volunteer Emergency Squad for several years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara.

Survivors include his loving wife Sue Long Bensman; loving children, Robert Bensman (Olga), Brad Bensman and Steven Bensman; stepchildren Daniel Long (Karen), LaWanda Reiswig (Roger) and Tim Long (Laurie); nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren: David (Tina), Adam (Sheena) Bensman, Jason, Kelsy, Jolie Long, Becca, Laura, Tim Jr., Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Bella, Mia and Rileigh; sister Sheila Kovalsky, and Loretta Shapiro, loving mother of his three sons.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Dr., Sun City Center, FL 33573
