Raymond J. Evans

– November 6, 2016

Raymond J. Evans
Raymond J. Evans passed away suddenly on Nov. 6, 2016, at the Sun Terrace Rehabilitation Center in Sun City Center, Fla., at the age of 87. He had fallen ill in August and was undergoing therapy.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio where his sister, Florence Stupi, still resides. He was a thoroughbred horse trainer for most of his life and had a great love for all animals.

After serving in the Korean War, he settled in Palatine, Ill. There he met his soul mate, Mavis. They were married for 38 wonderful years until her passing in 2000. He raised Mavis's daughter, Lynn, as if she were his own.

After his wife's passing he moved to Sun City Center and was living with stepdaughter, Lynn Corbin, and son-in-law, Roger Corbin. He had been very happy there for the last nine years. He was a very kind gentle man, greatly loved and will be missed by many.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” on Nov. 20 at his home for family and friends.
