Gaby Johnson
Gaby Johnson, passed away November 6, 2016. Gaby was born in Landau, Germany. She became a naturalized American citizen after marrying her husband, William O. Johnson in 1961.  They were married for 48 years before he passed away in 2009.

She worked as a translator for the U.S. Army when she met her husband, who was stationed in Germany at the time. After her children were grown, she worked part time as a travel agent. Being married to a career military husband, they moved many times during Bill's 30 years in the U.S. Army.

Her favorite hobby was traveling. She traveled all around the world visiting every continent except Antarctica and enjoyed experiencing the cultures of over 100 different countries.  She also loved going on cruises, having gone on dozens of them after retiring in Sun City Center in 1997.

She was very proud of her German heritage and enjoyed spending time with the German-American Club.   All of her friends in Sun City Center were like family to Gaby.

She leaves behind a daughter, Katrina Benson-Lamp, son-in-law Olen Lamp, granddaughter Dominique Benson and grandson Micah Benson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Oliver Johnson, who passed away in 1984. The family received friends Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Memorial service at 7 p.m,. at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
