Margaret A. Schill

September 25, 1914 – January 3, 2017

Margaret Allison Moore Schill “Margo,” 102, of Sun City Center, Fla. passed away Jan. 3, 2017. She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada to American parents, Philip and Florence Allison. Upon her father’s death, and at the age of 16, the family moved to Evanston, Ill. She graduated from Evanston Township High School and Moses Business College in Chicago.

On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Glenn Moore, a Northwestern University Naval ROTC graduate, and moved to Worcester, Mass., where he was an Export Sales Manager for The Heald Machine Co. They had three sons, Douglas, David and John. After his death at the age of 58, Margaret moved to Ft. Myers, Fla. where she was on the sales staff of Jamaica Bay West Co.

On July 8, 1981, she married Robert Schill and traveled extensively worldwide. Her many residences included living in Naples, Fla., Flat Rock, N.C. and Latrobe, Pa.; finally settling in Sun City Center, where Robert passed away in 2006. Margo moved into Aston Gardens at the Courtyards and later to Homewood Residence.

Margo was an active duplicate bridge player and had a great artistic sensitivity, which she portrayed in her passion of remodeling and decorating her many homes. She was on the building and decorating committees for two churches and served as Deacon and Elder at the Chapel by the Sea in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.

Margo was also preceded in death by her two sons, David and John Moore. She leaves behind her loving son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Elaine Moore of Sun City Center, five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 W. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City Center, FL 33573.
