John R. Morris
June 1, 1928 – January 19, 2017
John R. Morris, 88, of Sun City Center, Fla. was born June 1, 1928 and passed away January 19, 2017. He was a Native American and a member of the Mohawk Indian tribe.
John graduated from Le-Moyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. in 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two and a-half years. He married Dorothy in 1952 and worked for New York State as an auditor. He moved to Tampa Fla. in 1972 and worked for Hillsborough County as an accountant. He enjoyed running with the Tampa Bay Runners and golfing, boating and fishing with his family. He retired to Sun City Center in 1992, where golfing and ceramics became his passion. John was an inaugural Tampa Bay Buccaneer Season ticket holder until the end.
John is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Robert, daughter Mary Clare, brothers Richard and Gerald, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of loving relatives.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City Center, Fla.

Marko Popovich, Jr., age 79, of Ruskin passed away on Monday January 16, 2017. Beloved husband of Nancy Popovich and the late Nina Popovich; loving father of Kenny (Maureen) Popovich, Mark (Rinda) Popovich III and Tom (Sharon) Popovich; cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother of the late Tom, and Joseph, John and Lucy Popovich; brother-in-law of Annie Popovich and Linda Popovich; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mark served his country with pride and honor in the U.S. Army. He was a Master Mason for over 40 years and a great teacher of the rites. Mark was the owner of Sun & Fun Amusements, which he operated with his family. Outdoor amusement business was his life and brought him much enjoyment working in this industry. A member of the IISA, American Legion and Greater Tampa Showmen’s Association, where he served as president in 1980. Mark was the ultimate Showman. He never passed a microphone that he didn’t pick up and sing. Our Golden Voice is now singing in heaven.
