Annabell Van Winkle Schutte

Annabell Van Winkle Schutte passed away in the early morning of January 15, 2017, at LifePath Hospice, Sun City Center Fla. at the age of 100.

She was born August 21,1916, to William R. Van Winkle and Hanna Pence Van Winkle in Marion, Indiana, the youngest of four daughters, all now deceased.

Annabell graduated Marion High School and subsequently embarked on a long, successful career with Standard Oil of Indiana beginning in Indianapolis, Ind., moving to Detroit, Mich. then Atlanta, Ga. Annabell achieved the Certified Public Secretary designation, similar in  prestige to a CPA.

She and Bill Schutte were married and retired in Sun City Center, Fla. She was an active swimmer and played many rounds of golf with her husband Bill. They loved going to Churchill Downs, especially the Kentucky Derby. Bill passed away in February 1994.

She loved all kinds of board games, especially mahjong and was a highly respected bridge player. A social person with many friends, Annabell was gifted with an alert, curious mind for all 100-plus years. She  resided in Sun City Center for over 40 years.

Survivors include nephew Robert Meredith (Darlene), and nephew Edwin Van Hendey (Judy), and  many great-nieces and nephews and longtime family friends. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
