Alfred N. Flaten Jr. passed away January 27, 2017 at the Life Path Hospice House in Sun City Center, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene (Koenig) Flaten, his parents, Alfred N. Flaten Sr. and Dorothy (Nasinec) Flaten and brother, Boyd Flaten. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws: Laurie (Michael) Thies of Omaha, Neb., Leigh Ann (Michael) Worrall of Ruskin, Fla., Noelle (Philip) Jennerjohn of Green Bay, Wis. and Trisha Barner (Jim Bartlett) of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Matthew Thies, Omaha, Neb. and Joshua Jennerjohn, Green Bay, Wis.; and by his brother Paul (Susan) Flaten of Jacksonville, Fla.
Alfred was born in Edinburgh, N.D., December 9, 1934. He attended University of North Dakota where he met his wife. He worked for Nash Finch Company for 45 years and retired as the CEO. He retired to Florida in 2000. He enjoyed many activities such as golf, travel, walking, reading, attending church and taking care of his beloved canine sidekick, Sparky.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Saturday, February 4, 2017, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Florida. Burial will be later in the spring in Edinburg, North Dakota. He will be missed by a host of friends, family and church members. Arrangements by
