Mae Noble McPhail Heininger

Mae Noble McPhail Heininger, 91, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at South Bay Hospital. She was born in Macon, Ga. Her parents were Tobert E. and Gladys Noble of Charlotte N.C. She was raised in St. Petersburg, Fla. and Charlotte, N.C. and attended Salem College graduating in 1947 with a major in history.
She married Joseph Roger McPhail, III in Charlotte, N.C. on March 4, 1949. Joseph passed away in 2002. She is survived by her husband H.G. “Bo” Heininger; sons Roger McPhail and Robert McPhail; daughter-in-law Collette McPhail; daughter Mary Lynn McPhail Callen; and son-in-law Kenneth Callen. She had three grandchildren, Patricia Timper, Amanda Campbell, and Justin McPhail. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir for many years. She was an avid golfer, dancer, and swimmer after moving here in 1990. She moved from her home on Berry Roberts Drive to Freedom Plaza in 2009 and married H.G. “Bo” Heininger in September 2011.
A memorial service was held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Monday, March 27, 2017 with Rev. Mark Salmon officiating. Burial will be in Macon, Ga. at a later date.
