Joan Louise Shaffer (nee Hipsley), 80, of Sun City Center, Fla. passed away March 19, 2017. She was born in Erie, Pa.
She retired as a computer analyst and data processor for Tampa General Hospital. She was a member of the Genealogy Society. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Lawrence, Phillip and Edward Hipsley and by her two sisters, Linda and Pamela Hipsley. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Frederick C. Shaffer; three sons, Daniel F. (Karen E.) Shaffer, David R. Shaffer and Joseph A. Hipsley; her daughter, Diane Y. Primm; her sister, Karen (Charles) Nichols; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fla. www.suncitycenterfuneralhome.com
