Barbara Keller Harrison
Barbara Keller Harrison, 93, a former resident of Hyde Park, N.Y., died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born May 21, 1923, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to Charles and Caroline Keller. On September 6, 1942, she married Stephen J. Harrison, who predeceased her in 2012.

Barbara graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1941, the very first graduating class of the “new” high school in Hyde Park. As a young student of dance, she was proud to have performed for President Franklin Roosevelt.

Barbara was employed for several years at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., first as a bookkeeper, then as an attendant at Hillcrest for children with autism.

Barbara is survived by a daughter Fern Kaelber, Hyde Park, N.Y.; son Stephen Harrison and wife Jean, Sun City Center Fla.; daughter-in-law Sharon Leimer and husband Fred, Florida; grandchildren Charlene and Andrew Lancaster, Connecticut; George and Betsy Kaelber, New York; Charles and Jennifer Harrison, New York; Theodore Marsh,New York; Catherine Smith, Florida; Susan and Matthew Leyshon, Florida.; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Barbara was predeceased by a daughter Barbara Dawn Marsh in 1988; a son Charles J. Harrison in 2004; brothers Albert, Herbert and Charles Keller; and a sister Angela Savage. Cremation has taken place in Florida. Arrangements by Zipperer’s Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Vibbert; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Heather Himburg; mother, Lillian Chesbro; sister, Julie Mergy; brother, David Himburg; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Evelyn, Cole and Lilly.

A private ceremony celebrating his life was held on March 30 and 31. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
