Elizabeth Ann Wootten

Elizabeth Ann Wootten
Elizabeth Ann Wootten (lovingly known as Ann), daughter and only child of Reverend Willard Wootten and Reba Adeline Croswell Wootten skipped off the planet on March 28, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in Sun City Center, Florida.

Ann was born in Tilgham, Maryland and grew up to become a 7th grade teacher at Newark High School in Newark, Delaware for 35 years. She resided in Newark until her retirement when she moved to Bay View Park and eventually to Florida.

She lived in Kings Point, Sun City Center, Florida with her dear cousin, Elinor Short for many years. In 2016, she moved into the Sun Towers Independent Living Center.

In her words, Ms. Wootten said, “It’s been a great life, and I have possibly outlived many of my students.”

Ms. Wootten leaves multitudes of good friends and her adopted daughter, Rev. Nichia Maralyn Colman Ackerman.

Her message to all who survive her is, “Continue playing on this precious planet, just as I did!”

Ann Wootten has requested that there be no funeral or memorial services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to WEDU Television on her behalf; to donate, visit http://tinyurl.com/lkndz4v.
