Duane T. Minton

Duane Thomas Minton, age 87, died on Thursday, November 9, at LifePath Hospice in Sun City Center, Florida.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an only child to Thomas and Edna Minton. He is survived by his wife, Prudence (Marino), and two children, daughter Denise/Michael (Murray) and son Brian/Louis, and grandchildren Sean and Leo.
Duane went to Custer High School where he played trombone and football. After graduating high school he attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Duane was a Sargent in the U.S. Air Force where he served three years overseas in Sculthorpe, England. He loved jazz, pasta and being Italian, even though he really wasn’t.
<h3><strong>Myron Albert</strong></h3>
The Honorable Myron Albert of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away on November 10, 2017, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Myron was born on May 12, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Goldie and Abraham Albert. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Albert Sunshine. Myron is survived by his niece, Linda Keiles (Leslie Ciletti) of Long Beach, Calif.; his nephew, Gary Sunshine (Mark Lagasse) of Beacon, N.Y.; the love of his life, Nina Smart of Sun City Center; and her sons, Michael Smart (Jan) of Quincy, Ill., and Walter Smart (Stephanie) of Manistee, Mich.
Myron served with pride in the U.S. Army’s 94th Infantry Division during World War II under General Patton in the famed Ghost Corps, and received numerous medals for his service, including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He served as National President of the 94th Infantry Division Association.
Myron graduated from Brooklyn College and the Syracuse University College of Law. He was an attorney in private practice for over 40 years, as well as an administrative law judge for the City of New York.
In 1988, Myron moved from Brooklyn to Sun City Center, where he met Nina Smart and spent the rest of his days laughing, dancing, power walking, and enjoying life with her.
Myron’s family thanks his Professional Care Manager Denise Marceron, and the loving caregivers of FirstLight Home Care, for the devoted and compassionate service during Myron’s last years; because of them, Myron was able to live out his years with dignity.

Rita Scott Bevan, age 77, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on November 9, 2017. She was the wife of Gerard (Jerry) Bevan. They would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on November 20.
Born in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of the late William Jerome and Cathleen McDonough Scott, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School; the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, Scranton; Wilkes College– Wilkes-Barre, Pa., with a BS in Nursing Education College of Saint Francis, Joliet, Il, with an MS in Hospital Administration; and completed the course work for an Executive MBA at Arizona State University. Rita was a healthcare professional for 43 years.
Also surviving are two sons: Thomas (Lisa) and granddaughter Kate, and son Todd; two sisters: Lois Farrell (husband William) and Janet Zuczek (Stanley), and a brother, Jerome (Margaret). She was preceded in death by a sister, Kay.
A private funeral service will be held at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA.

Shirley DeBlois has passed from this life. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 65 years, Rodney DeBlois; daughter, Vicki Scholer; her granddaughters India Clark and Jaurian Birmingham; and their daughters Zaiha and Zola.
She was a charter member of the Ruskin Epsilon Chi Chapter, realtor at Dickman Realty, and enjoyed the many friends she made through the Reno Marine that she owned and ran with her husband Rodney.
Her smile brightened our world; she left a love for Maine with her granddaughters and memories of gardening and long walks, laughing and taking time for life. She touched many lives and will be truly missed.
Donations in her name can be made to the Hospice House in Sun City Center. She will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery.
