Donald M. Miner
August 9, 1930 – January 15, 2018
Donald M. Miner, 97, of Sun City Center, Fla. passed away January 15, 2018. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an avid golfer and founding member of Caloosa Golf and Country Club and founding member of the South Hillsborough Elks lodge. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years Erma Inglis Miner and his brother-in-law Richard P. Inglis. Graveside service with military honors will be at 9 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2018, at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home, 813-634-9900.
<h3><strong>Donna L. Braden</strong></h3>
Donna L. Braden, beloved wife of Thomas T. Braden of 69 years., passed away peacefully at Sun City Center Hospice on February 8, 2018. She was born the seventh of 11 children on August 9, 1930, in Butler, Pa. Donna was the mother of three sons: Gary (wife Sharon), Terry (wife Kathleen) and Perry. She was grandmother to Corey Braden, Wade Braden, Tara (Braden) Kis and also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Donna and husband Tom, were owners of Roxy’s Diner in Prospect, Pa. for many years. She and Tom were also school bus contractors in Butler County for 20 years before relocating to Florida.
Donna was a member of the Ruskin United Methodist Church and worked in the church thrift shop. She was very active in the Sun City/South Shore Kiwanis including involvement in and promotion of their “Terrific Kids” school program, which she was proud to serve. Included in her numerous awards, Donna was the recipient of the Samaritan Quarter Year Award for volunteer work transporting Sun City Center residents, and the Zeller Award for the funding of inoculations for women in Third World countries.
There will be a memorial service held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Ruskin United Methodist Church, 105 4th Ave. N.W., Ruskin, FL 33570. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna’s name to Kiwanis, PO Box 5753, Sun City Center, FL 33573, or your favorite charity.
