Sam P. Pantano

Sam P. Pantano passed away peacefully on March 1, 2018, at age 90.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife Sonya, AKA, Sunny, in 2017, sharing 66 years of marital bliss. Sam and Sunny were natives of Wilmington, Delaware having relocated to Naples, Florida 31 years ago, and then resided in Sun City Center for the past 14 years.
He served his country proudly in the Tank Corp. in World War II in the U.S. Army. Sam said jokes and humor were essential to survive, and he had plenty to go around. A hobby he loved, was making “Night Lights,” Christmas Trees, and other novelty “Plug Ins.” His generosity was abundant, in giving them to all. Retiring from his first career as a Master Machinist, he entered the teaching profession and began teaching at a trade school in Wilmington, Delaware. He loved sharing his skills with his students and always preached “Be the Best” in everything you do. Their appreciation and stories of success were sent often through the years. They warmed Sam’s heart. He was the “Life of the Party” and he will always be remembered as a fine gentleman, who possessed great empathy, kindness, and was never boastful.
Sam is survived by his son Christopher and wife, Nancy, their daughter, Samantha, and son Thomas, as well as his brother Frank and his wife, Margaret. Sam was preceded in death by his sister Mildred and brother Joseph. Sam leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to convey heartfelt thanks to Dru Goomar and Jeannie Varner for their love, care, and friendship to both Sam and Sunny over the years.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. at The Prince of Peace Catholic Church 702 Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City Center, FL 33573. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home, 813-634-9900.
