Anne Pidgeon

July 26, 1961 –

Anne Pidgeon
Our family lost a kind, beautiful, and talented member on March 10, 2018. Anne Louise Pidgeon, 56, formerly of N. Ferrisburgh, Vt., passed away with Melissa and Tokio Morales, her dear friends, by her side.

Anne was born July 26, 1961, the second child of Marcus Pidgeon and Irene Gebo. Her horticultural talents emerged early as she won a blue ribbon for flower arranging in first grade. She graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1979 and SUNY at Farmingdale Long Island in 1981 with an AS in Horticulture.

After moving to Florida she got a job at Busch Gardens in Tampa. She worked there 23 years designing all the beautiful and intricate plant installations.  Anne also had her own plant growing and selling business, which included magnificent mango trees. She would have what she called Mango Fest around her birthday, when they were in season.

Anne was a very gifted person who loved to sew, design beautiful gardens, give horticultural lectures and repair or build most anything. Those talents came in handy in another of her interests — thrift store shopping. She rarely bought anything new — the clothes or appliances would come home and be repaired or altered to fit.

She also had a soft spot for the homeless dogs that showed up around her property. They always had enough to eat and endless attention from Anne.

Her father, Marcus Pidgeon, predeceased her. She is survived by her mother Irene; her stepfather John Pierce; her sisters Beth, Pam (Guy), Susan (Chuck), Sally, Jane (Patrick) and Laura. She also is survived by her brothers Mark (Elizabeth), Gary, Peter and Paul.

There will be a memorial service in May.

She leaves behind a family that will dearly miss her and will quote her often.
