Joseph Theodore Vrablik

Joseph Theodore Vrablik, a Senior IT Systems Administrator at the University of Colorado and owner of CNT Solutions, died at work on April 19 from an undiagnosed heart condition.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>He was 39 years old. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
Joseph T. Vrablik was born in Littleton, Colo., graduated from Smokey Hill High School and the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a Bachelor of Science–Information Systems.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Joseph was married to Stephanie Barkmeyer, a photographer.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Joe & Stephanie would have celebrated their second anniversary on April 23rd. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Joe was the son of Gayle, a homemaker and volunteer, and Joseph Vrablik, a retired partner of Rocky Mountain Cummins.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>In addition to being a loyal Colorado Rockies fan, Joe was a world traveler and visited over 16 countries while participating in his hobbies of photography, fly-fishing, skiing and scuba diving. His greatest efforts were expended in training for IRONMAN competitions across the globe.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>In total, he completed 14 IRONMAN competitions and was training for his 15th to be held on October 13 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
In addition to his wife and parents, Joe is survived by his brother David, his sister-in-law Tawnya Vrablik, his Mother- and Father in-laws Nancy and Bob Barkmeyer, his Grandmother Anne Vrablik, his Aunt and Uncle, Nancy and Henry Hopkins, his Aunt and Uncle, Zada and Brian Clarke, nieces and nephews and his loyal husky and golden retriever, Madison and Abbey. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 26; Rosary was at 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 at Saint James Catholic Church located at 1311 Oneida Street, Denver, CO 80220.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Lunch was served after Mass in the Parish Hall.
A prayer and memorial service was held on April 25 at Crosspoint Community Church at 6:30 p.m.
<h2>Robert E. “Bob” Whitney</h2>
United States Air Force Lt. Col. Robert E. “Bob” Whitney, 96, of Sun City Center, Fla. passed away April 26, 2018. Bob was affectionately known as “GGPA” to his grandchildren. A compassionate and devoted friend to many will be dearly missed. Living life to its fullest, he shared many cherished and humorous memories.
He proudly wore his U.S. Army Air Corps/U.S. Air Force uniforms with honor and meritorious distinction from 1942-1966. Respected and highly skilled as a pilot and squadron leader, his awards included Letters of Commendation, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medals, Clusters and numerous additional service medals. He was selected as a member on the United Nations Repatriation Tribunal in 1953. Upon retirement, he furthered his career as GS-13, then to the FAA as Safety Flight Inspector and Administration. Retiring to Mesa, he taught, tested and trained future pilots at
Williams AFB.
Socially active, skilled dancers, Bob and Ruby (first wife of 63 years) were also award-winning bowlers. Bob enjoyed golf and proudly displayed his “hole in one” plaque. Bob and Audrey (second wife of 9 and one-half years) were socially active in the Towers community, known as “The Sweethearts” among friends and family. He retained membership in the Order of Daedalians through retirement. All who knew him witnessed a life well lived as he was blessed with the love of two amazing devoted women, loving family, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Whitney by his second wife Audrey Hammond-Whitney, by his son, Robert Whitney, Jr. and by his daughter, Donna Roux, his parents Raymond and Alma Whitney and a brother Norman. Survivors include daughters, Jerry (Dan) Crabtree, Patricia (Roger) Cole, a grandson, Sean (Angie) McCall, five granddaughters, Tammy Madison, Kimberly (Brett) New, Amy Honaker, Allison (Sam) Couch and Summer (Adam) Thielebeule. Audrey’s family, Chandra Wielatz, Steve Hammond (Ann), grandchildren, Gina, Murray (Jonfrank) and Quincy Hammond and Luke Hammond (Callie) 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Sun Towers, 101 Trinity Lakes Drive, Sun City Center, Fla. Interment beside Ruby with military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
