John Wayne Sanchez passed away peacefully with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
He was born August 9, 1940, in Tampa, Fla. to George and Gracie Sanchez. He was in the first graduating class of East Bay High School in 1958 and spent 35 years working as a local truck driver with Pilot and AAA Cooper. He was a resident of Riverview, Fla.; Ruskin, Fla.; and Franklin, N.C.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
John Sanchez is survived by his wife of 50 years Charlotte Sanchez, children Steven (Elaine) Wilson, Gary (Judy) Wilson, and Michelle (Steven) Townsend; grandchildren Amber, Fred, Michelle, William, Daniel, Alexzandria and Jakob; eight great-grandchildren; brother Vaughn (Maxine) Sanchez and sisters Barbara (Edwin) Ely and Velora Lilley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 23, at Ruskin VFW.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
