Helen Scott Clatterbuck

September 24, 1923 – August 5, 2018

Helen Scott Clatterbuck, of Sun City Center, Fla. passed away on August 5, 2018. She was 94. Helen was born on September 24, 1923, in Washington, D.C. She was a special kind and caring woman and beloved by all who had the pleasure to share part of her life.

She is survived by sons, James V. Clatterbuck III of Crownsville, Md., Paul S. Clatterbuck of Lynchburg, Va., and Bruce A. Clatterbuck of Lithia, Fla.; daughter, Susan C. Wharton of Apollo Beach, Fla.; sister, Mary Ruth Kennedy of Mansfield, Texas; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Helen is predeceased by her husband James V. Clutterbuck Jr. 

A Memorial Service will be held on August 15, 2018, 10 a.m., at Plaza West, 912 American Eagle Blvd., 2 South Dining Room, Sun City Center, FL 33573. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freedom Plaza Employee Appreciation Fund, Attention Stephanie O’Fallon, 1010 American Eagle Blvd., Sun City Center, FL 33573. Arrangements entrusted to the National Cremation & Burial Society, Ruskin, FL. 

 
<h2>Raymond (Jim) Garrett</h2>
Raymond (Jim) Garrett of Tampa died July 27, 2018, at the age of 84 years. He was born September 6, 1933, in Jefferson, Ohio.

Some activities and hobbies enjoyed by Jim were fishing, poker, swimming, playing the harmonica and other instruments, listening to music, honoring the U.S. Army where he served for 20 years and spending time with his family and wife Katherine Garrett. 

Jim was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. He lived a life of integrity and devotion to his family and country. Jim enjoyed music and sharing laughter with family and friends. He adored spending time with his wife and best friend Katherine.

Survivors include his wife Katherine of Sun City Center, Fla.; eldest son Jim of Virginia Beach, Va.; youngest son Bill of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kelli Garrett, Katie Stoakley and Carly Garrett.

Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be announced at a future date.

 
<h2>Thomas Eric Simonsen, M.D. </h2>
Oct. 4,1933 - July 28, 2018

<a href="/assets/images/uploads/wp/2018/08/Thomas-SimonsenPic.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-21838" src="/assets/images/uploads/wp/2018/08/Thomas-SimonsenPic-120x120.jpg" alt="" width="120" height="120" /></a>Thomas Eric Simonsen, M.D. was born in Janesville, Wisconsin. Tom graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and Northwestern Medical College where he specialized in Radiology. He served in the U.S. Army as a Physician where he received wounded soldiers during the Vietnam War. 

Tom is survived by his wife Ann, children and grandchildren to whom he was devoted. Tom enjoyed travel and had circled the world six times with Ann on the ms Amsterdam. He most recently explored a glacier while visiting the Canadian Rockies. 

Tom appreciated his home in Sun City Center as one of the best places on earth! He also enjoyed annual time in Sanibel Island, Fla. Tom participated in the Kings Point Discussion Group for several years. He donated time to AARP Tax Preparation for Sun City Center residents. Classical music was often heard as Tom worked on his computer. He had a special interest in current events, history and genealogy. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed live theater. He was a gentle man with a sense of humor and personal dignity. He enjoyed sharing his life’s stories and discussing literature and poetry with Ann. 

Tom served on the Board of his Homeowner’s Association, Nantucket II, in Kings Point. Tom also enjoyed his involvement at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. Tom’s passing was peaceful with Ann by his side. He often used the word “Grateful.” He has gone on his Final Journey to the loving arms of God. He will be missed by many who feel fortunate to have known him. Tom regarded kindness as an important virtue, which directed his life. 

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center, 1239 Del Webb Blvd. W. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. It will be led by the Rev. Dr. Mark Salmon. Arrangements by Zipperer’s Funeral Home.
