Ann M. Murray, 85, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Devoted member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, dedicated member of the Daughters of Scotia, and a founding member of Sarasota Heritage Festival.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>She was a loving mother and devoted wife and friend. An avid seamstress and baker of Scottish Shortbread who loved making things for others.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
Ann was born in Scotland on March 3, 1933. Preceded in death by husband Charles and brother Ian.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Survived by sons Ian, Donald (Cheryl) and daughter Sine (Alan); grandchildren Suzanne, Allison, Kevin, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Keith and River; great-grandchildren: Christopher and Simon; and sister Evelyn McLean. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
A private service will be held for family at 10 a.m. on September, 14 at the Sarasota National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be on September 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1239 Del Web Blvd. W., Sun City Center, FL 33513. Flowers may be sent to the Memorial in care of the church.
<h3>Irving ‘Irv’ Rothman</h3>
Irving “Irv” Rothman of Sun City Center, Fla. died August 16, 2018, at the age of 94. Irv was born in New York City in 1923. He enjoyed camping, travel, and was a Contract Bridge Silver Master.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
Irv spent his life serving others in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II as a registered nurse and nursing home administrator. He was devoted to his late wife Ilse. Irv is survived by his son Kenneth (Kathryn) Rothman, Alexandria, Minn.; his daughter Nancy (Robert) Kulow, Cary, N.C.; granddaughter Rebecca (Patrick) McCoy; grandson Jonathan (Jessica) Rothman; and great-granddaughter Alyssa McCoy. Private family services will be held at a later date.

<a href="/assets/images/uploads/wp/2018/08/Judy-Self.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-22083" src="/assets/images/uploads/wp/2018/08/Judy-Self-120x120.jpg" alt="" width="120" height="120" /></a>On Monday, August 20, 2018, Heaven received an angel when Judith “Judy” Self passed peacefully in the home she shared with the love of her life and best friend, Mike Self, for 28 years. Judy will be forever missed and remembered by her husband of 31 years, her two daughters Christy Hall and Teresa Johnson, her two sons Michael Self II and Joshua Self, her son-in-laws<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Jon Hall and Dennis Johnson, her daughter-in-laws Stacy and Jennifer Self, and her 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, Madison, Cassidy, Meredith, Brayden, Abbye, Alison, Ethan, Noah, Aubree and Ava. Judy will also be forever remembered by numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and extended family and loving friends.
Mike and Judy impacted this community through the restaurant they owned for over three decades, S&S Tacos in Ruskin, the home of the taco salad and wet burrito. While the food brought the locals to the restaurant, it was the special way Judy and Mike loved on people that kept everyone coming back. Together, they made such an impact on this little town of Ruskin.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
When Judy was just 13 years old she received Jesus into her heart, and she spent the next 63 years loving people the way Jesus did. She poured into people and spoke life and identity into her family and all those she loved and cared about. Judy was a special lady, full of God-given gifts that enabled her to see people the way Jesus saw people. She cultivated deep relationships and impacted lives for a living with her unconditional love, her kindness, her ability to see the best in people and because of such, her life was a testimony of a life that reflected Jesus. She taught her children how to have a God-centered marriage through her example.
After her cancer diagnosis in February 2018, during this time, she reaped what she had sewed into so many. She was surrounded by all her family and people who loved her. She proceeded to live her life continuing to trust in Jesus, praising Him with joy and hope in her heart. During her own battle against cancer, she could be found praying over a list of people, because she was a prayer warrior, and cancer did not stop her from doing her kingdom work.
Judy is now completely healed and residing in Heaven and will one day be joined by her loving family.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 2, at 6 p.m. at Wellspring Community church at 705 9th St. S.E. Ruskin, FL 33570.
