Kenneth Reid
Kenneth Reid, 82, of Sun City Center, left his earthly home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2018. Also known by friends as Ken or Kenny, he was born in England, lived there for 40 years, then lived over 30 years in Ontario, Canada, before emigrating to the United States. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
Ken was a heck of a salesman for most of his adult working life, selling a variety of things including canned food, cheese, knitting yarn, over-the-counter medicines, and finally, surgical supplies. He was a snowbird, with a winter home in Kings Point for many years, but moved here permanently in 2012. Ken had the heart of a volunteer. He was a member of the Sun City Center Emergency Squad for over 20 years, only leaving when he became too ill. He was the vice-president of the Canadian Club for many years and most recently volunteered with Life Path Hospice. He enjoyed socializing with his many, many friends; going to local dances, walking, going to the gym and playing golf. His smile could light up a room, and his gentle nature and good sense of humor made him loved by many.
Ken leaves behind (and will be greatly missed by) his wife Janet Caruthers; two sons Paul Reid (Alice Baughman) and Michael Reid (Julie Rodberg); and three grandchildren, Chelsea, Naomi, and Owen.
Services will be held in December, but have not been scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Sun City Center Emergency Squad in Ken’s name or a charity of your choice.
