Linda Simmons
Linda Simmons, of Ruskin, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 23, 2018. Linda was born November 25, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio to E.T. and Eleanor Young, who precede her in death. When she was 4 years old her family relocated to Sulphur Springs, Fla., where she lived until she graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1959, then accepted a job at Seminole Bank where she worked for over 20 years. It was while working there that she met her beloved husband, Charles (Sam) Simmons. They had been married for 46 years and have two sons, Samuel Royce “Sammy” (Nikki) and Dean Ray (Chivon); four grandchildren, Hailey, Garrett, Morgan, and Royce; nephew Jason Shenefield and niece Cindy (Jeff) Cummings.

The Simmons family has lived in the greater Ruskin area for over 40 years. Linda’s grandchildren were the love of her life for whom she provided every life experience possible, some of the favorites being the beach, Disney, the Lakehouse, and most especially, her pool. “Grammy” (Linda) was a popular name echoed frequently anytime she was near. In addition to the love of her own children and grandchildren, Linda possessed a philanthropic tribute for children in need and practiced it with her own grandchildren. Her favorite agency was The Children’s Home Network. Donations may be made in her honor and memory to this organization at 10909 Memorial Highway, Tampa, FL 33615.
