Marjorie Lee Chandler

Marjorie Lee Chandler
We celebrate the passing of Marjorie Lee Chandler from this life to the next. Marjorie lived to be 97 and lived a full and fruitful life. Her passing was gentle and easy as she transitioned from death to new life. She spent her last two years in assisted living at the Garden House of Anderson, SC, where she was close to her daughter and family. There she endeared herself to the staff with her smiles, sharp wit, and kind words (and apologies when she got snappy). She is remembered as someone who showed her love by action, by doing. She was always doing things for her family and for others. Her children and grandchildren will miss her but carry on her legacy.

She was happily married for 66 years to Russell Chandler Jr., who preceeded her in death by 10 years. They were devoted to one another. Marjorie served and supported her husband faithfully and with love until his passing. They lived in Sun City Center, FL, for 35 years before she relocated to Anderson, SC. She is survived by her two children, Russell Chandler III (Maria) and Patricia Walker (Michael); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Brookins. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC; she will be buried next to her husband at the National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621, www.hospiceoftheupstate.com. Arrangements by Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, Greenville, SC.
