John F. Slaughter

John F. Slaughter, 75, of Sun City Center and, originally, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away November 7, 2020. John graduated from North Central High School and attended Milligan College in Tenn. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Medic and was honorably discharged in 1969. He later worked in banking and sales before retiring to Florida. Cars and auto racing were John’s favorite pastime. He was an expert marksman and enjoyed target shooting, playing cards and traveling. He loved and rescued many animals.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cynthia A. (Pate) Slaughter; a brother, James Slaughter (Marilyn) of Greenfield, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Ezell (Chuck) of Micco, Fla.; mother-in-law, Carolyn Pate; a brother-in-law, Gary Pate (Patty); as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, James E. and Mary (Troy) Slaughter.
Mr. Slaughter will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to C.A.R.E.
