Florence Ellenberger

Florence H. Van Valkenburgh Miller Ellenberger, 110, passed away on December 30, 2020. Born May 30, 1910, in Rochester, N.Y. to Claude Van Valkenburgh and Elizabeth Gurtler. She then moved to Mellenville, N.Y. and, subsequently, spent her later years in Sun City Center, Fla.
An active person, she was a 50+ year member of the DAR and Eastern Star, serving as Regent, Matron, Grand Electa and was a volunteer to many organizations. She was an ordained Deacon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Sun City Center, Fla.
She was pre-deceased by three husbands: Almon P. Miller, Irving E. Wilcox, Forreste I. Ellenberger; and three children: Almon M. Miller, Charles A. Miller, Florence E. Genito; and sisters: Elizabeth (Wilbur) Miller, Jean (Charles) Wasner, Roberta (Harold) Wagner; and brother, Claude Van Valkenburgh. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Louise (Charles) Miller; son-in-law, Ralph (Florence “Ellen”) Genito; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
