Ken pursued a second career in photography, winning an award from Kodak. He had a passion for golf, airplanes and hunting. He and Ruth purchased a winter home in Sun City Center and eventually moved there full time.

Ken was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Rodney Pierpoint.
