Gaetane Ouellette
January 18, 1947 –
On Wednesday Jan. 20, 2021, Gaetane Adrienne Ouellette, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 74. She lived in Sundance, Wimauma, Florida. She was born January 18, 1947, in Lake Megantic, Quebec, Canada. Gaetane was the daughter of Roland and Ida (Fredette) Bedard. She enjoyed gardening and had a love for flowers and plants. Her positive attitude and infectious laugh were hard to ignore. She worked for Dr. Isbell, Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Thacker Dentistry in Sun City Center.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger Ouellette; children: Jeffrey Ouellette, Daron Ouellette and Christi Austin; her brother, Roger Bedard; sisters, Claire Ziolkowski and Theresa Mohrlein; and grandchildren: Jeffrey and Austin Ouellette, Kathrine and Lane Austin; and great-grandchildren, Leighton and Lexington Guinnip. She was the a proud owner of a certified woman-owned business in Oakland, Maine.
Celebration of Life to be held March 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. and on March 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at Groover Funeral Home, 1400 36th Ave., East Ellenton, FL 34222.
<h2><strong>Helen (Jinx) Rives</strong></h2>
A longtime resident of Sun City Center has passed. Helen (Jinx) Rives was born on October 2, 1925, in Bancroft, Idaho, to Thorgeik and Lucy Jonssm.
She was the youngest of seven children. She attended middle and high school in Ogden, Utah, where she met Frank Rives, whom she married on February 28, 1945. They have two sons, Rick Rives, of Wichita, Kans.; and Scott Rives, of Kamiah, Idaho.
They have 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rives, as well as all of her siblings.
She suffered a stroke on January 7, 2021, in her home in Sun City Center. She passed away in Wichita, Kans., on January 23, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Jinx and Frank Rives were accomplished ballroom dancers and were icons in Sun City Center. They were an influence and largely responsible for the starting of three Ballroom Dance Clubs in Sun City Center and Kings Point. They were active and strong supporters of Ballroom Dancing in SCC up to the time of their passing.
