Margaret Waterfield Niedland
January 12, 1935 –
</span><br />Margaret "Meg" “Peggy” Waterfield Niedland, age 76, transitioned out of this life at her daughter’s home in Jupiter, Florida, with three of her six children at her side. She lost her courageous battle against breast cancer. Unconventional in her attitude towards medicine, she surprised her doctors with her stamina and perseverance.</p>
<p>Born January 12, 1935 in Warsaw, Virginia, Meg lived in Wilmington, Delaware for many years before relocating to Florida with her family.</p>
<p>Survivors include her 6 children: Rip Robbins and wife, Rose of Bellingham, WA; Michael Morris and partner Albin Passerini of NYC, NY; Marsha Asher and husband Art of Jacksonville, FL; Jennifer Parrish and husband, Alan of St. Petersburg, FL; Cynthia Niedland of Carlsbad, NM; Suzanne Niedland DeGeorge and husband Larry of Jupiter, FL; step daughter Barbara McCarthy and husband Jay of Richmond, VA; brother Marshall H. Waterfield and wife, Janet, of Warsaw, VA; 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 4 Grand-dogs and 10 Grand-cats.</p>
<p>Meg was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Art.</p>
<p>Meg loved her family, theatre, traveling and adventure. She was a "fly girl" (flight attendant) in the late 1950s for Capital Airways, which later became United Airlines. In the early 1960s, she was a devoted mother and focused her energy on making the world a better place by developing her childrens' characters. Always inspiring those around her to embrace life, at the age of 70, Meg attended a “Warrior Camp” where she learned to walk on hot coals and went zip lining. Meg definitely did it "her way," in life and in death. Her passion and encouragement will be sorely missed.</p>
<p>There will be a private family memorial service to celebrate her enormous and generous spirit.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers the family requests that all memorials be directed to the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation in support of the Margaret W. Niedland Comprehensive Breast Center, 1201 S. Old Dixie Highway, Jupiter, FL 33458</p>
