Douglas Alan Booth

Douglas Alan Booth, 85, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Sun City Center, Florida. Doug was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on October 3,1940, and grew up in Brockport, New York.
Doug was a multi-sport varsity athlete in track and football and until recently held multiple school records. Doug played football at Colgate University before joining the Marine Corps where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, and Washington, D.C. Following the Marine Corps, Doug became a pilot and held instrument, instructor and commercial ratings and spent the majority of his professional career teaching people how to fly and all aspects of the general aviation business, including his role as regional examiner for the FAA in SW Kansas. In his flying career he accumulated over 8,000 flying hours.
After handing in his wings, Doug and his wife, Brenda, owned and operated sporting goods stores and were active in significant support of youth through collegiate sports teams and had a significant impact on local communities across the Oklahoma Panhandle and Southeast Kansas.
Doug and his wife of 40 years, Brenda, semi-retired to Florida, ultimately landing in Sun City Center, working in real estate and building a community of lifelong friends and was active in the euchre and shuffleboard clubs.
Doug enjoyed spending time with Brenda and his family more than anything and is survived by three sons, David Booth (Victoria) of Palm Bay, FL, Douglas Booth (Tonya) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Darin Booth (Jaycee) of Walton, KY; one daughter, Kristen Booth of Choctaw, OK; two stepsons, Casey Glendinning of Guymon, OK, and Michael Glendinning (Carita) of Palmetto, FL; 11 grandkids and 11 great-grandkids.
A military ceremony to inter his ashes at the Sarasota National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held in the next month with further details to follow for family and friends.
