Acie E. Ray

August 10, 1930 –

</span><br />After 80 years well lived, Acie Ray was called home to be with his Lord on May 7, 2011.&nbsp; Acie was born August 10, 1930 in Pikeville, KY to Archie and Cora Lee (Newsome) Ray.&nbsp; Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara (Stone) of 57 years, his adoring children and their spouses Brian and Diane Ray, Cheryl &amp; Dennis Gorski, Brenda &amp; John Selby, Annette &amp; Daniel Thibodeau, and his cherished grandchildren Kaitlyn and Kevin Ray, Cayla and Hunter Gorski, Linsey Higgins and husband Paul Mack, Arthur Higgins, and Brandon and Chad Selby.&nbsp; Acie is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Leah Belle Stone, his sister Draxie Blair, his brother Adron Fields, and his granddaughter Kelsey Allison Ray.&nbsp; Acie is a veteran of the Korean War, United States Army, 101st Airborne Division.&nbsp; He retired from Ford Motor Company, Wixom Plant in 1983 after 30 years, and has since split his time between his homes in Howell, MI and Apollo Beach, FL.&nbsp; Acie was a member of the Milford Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed visiting with family and friends, gardening, bee keeping, hunting and fishing, and playing pool and cards, especially cribbage.&nbsp; The family invites friends to gather on Tuesday from 1-6:30 PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel, Howell, MI. A Masonic service will begin at 6:30 PM followed by A Healing Farewell at 7:00 PM.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Chromosome 18 Registry.&nbsp; Envelopes will be available at Borek Jennings.
