George Charles Ryan

</span><br />George Charles Ryan of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away on June 2, 2011. He was 91.</p>
<p>George was born on October 12, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Dan and Susan Ryan. He was predecessed by his first wife, lillian and his only Sister, Eva. His is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Keever Ryan, 8 children, 5 step-children, 26 grand-children, 28 great-grand-children and 6 great-great grand children.</p>
<p>George was very proud of his service to our country during WWII. He was a member of the 58th Armored Field Artillery Battalion which was attached to many different Army Units during his four years of service. He participated in the North African Campaign, the Sicillian Campaign, the Liberation of France and fought in Germany. He survived the second assult wave on Omaha Beach during Operation Overlord on June 6, 1944.</p>
<p>There will be a memorial service for George on June 15, 2011 at 10:00 at Sun City Center Funeral Home after which his ashes will be interred at The Florida National Cementary.</p>
