Therese Tidwell
Therese Tidwell
Therese (Terri) Tidwell, 98 passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. She had suffered a stroke on the previous Wednesday and spent only three days in the hospital before her heart stopped.
Terri was preceded in death by her first husband of 48 years, David Hogg, and her second husband of 10 years, U D (Bud) Tidwell.
Terri was born in Massachusetts and spent most of her life in the Northeast. She moved to Atlanta, GA, with her husband, Dave and still has friends there. A year after Dave’s passing, she married Bud, a close family friend and widower and moved into his home in Sun City Center, Fl.
Terri was admired by everyone for her stylish appearance and friendly, outgoing personality.
Her natural vibrancy kept her living independently in her beautiful Spanish tiled roof home in a community of caring neighbors…she was even able to continue to drive her car herself. She enjoyed dancing and, in fact, was on the dance floor at the Community Center enjoying and moving to the music on the Saturday evening before her passing.
She is survived by her nephew, Phil Gallos, and his wife, Sharon; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Guy Dorey; and stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Janet Tidwell.
Terri will be placed next to her husband, Dave Hogg (Army), in the National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida; joining her second husband, Bud Tidwell (Navy), in the same resting ground with Bud and his first wife, Barbara Wilkins Tidwell, of a marriage that lasted 58 years.
She is remembered with love and affection by so many friends and neighbors, especially, one young couple, Mark and Maryann Boyer, who loved and treated her as a mother. Terri never had children of her own, so this relationship was especially important to her.
