</span><br />Maurice L. Buck, 81, of Sun City Center passed away peacefully February 23, 2012. Born in Salem, WV, he served admirably in the US Army in the early 50s. He graduated from Glenville State College in WV with a BA and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Deleware. He did further advanced degree work at several different universities. He was an educator for 40 years and held various positions in education, retiring as System Curriculum Director in Georgia. “Buck” had an avid interest in journalism and worked part-time for several newspapers, normally as a copy or sports editor. His survivors include his wife of 50 years Theresa, daughter Sharon Knight (Terry), son James (Katherine), grandsons, Joel (Tania) and Nicholas Knight (Melissa), and three step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Robert (Mary) and sister Sandra Phillips (Gary) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Vivian (Maston) and brother Edward. A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, March 1, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center.
