Donald J. Feehan

Donald J. Feehan, a resident of Sun City Center, Fl and Sag Harbor, N.Y. passed away peacefully at Hospice House, Sun City Center, Fl. on June 14, 2012. Donald, born in Jamaica, N.Y. on October 5, 1930 was one of three sons of Joseph and Alice Blauvelt Feehan. He attended Bishop Loughlin High School, graduating from New York University. Donald married Patricia M. Murphy of Floral Park and they were the parents of four children, Mary Anne Blamey, Peter Feehan, John Feehan and Timothy Feehan. Professionally, Don worked as a banker and then Village Clerk for Floral Park and Old Westbury, N.Y.
In 1985, he married Joan Hulse Schoen of Sag Harbor and in the process became the instant father to JoAnn Scibek, Deborah O’Brien, Christine Schoen and Jon Schoen. The combined families of eight children consist of a wonderful family of spouses, 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Donald is predeceased by his brother, Raymond, and survived by his brother Joseph.
Don will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, a historian, a Mets fan and after wintering in Florida, a Ray’s fan.
A Memorial Mass was held at Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Sun City Center and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church on July 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. Father Andrew Blake will be officiating, with interment at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Sag Harbor.

Jean “Jeannie” T. Buchanan 1933 - 2012 Jean “Jeannie” T. Buchanan passed in peace at home on Mother’s Day, in the arms of her devoted and loving daughters, shortly after her son-in-law quietly uttered these, now cherished words “Jeannie, I’ve planted a rosebush in the garden for you – Happy Mother’s Day”, Sunday – May 13, 2012.
She was the eldest of four siblings born to Joseph Louis Trombley and Wilma Marie Trombley of Lamoille County, in its shire town of Hyde Park, Vermont on October 23, 1933.  She graduated from Cabot High School as Class Salutatorian and was awarded the Babe Ruth Good Sportsmanship Award, for her conduct and skill as captain of the girls basketball team.  She joined the Air Force and attended San Angelo Business College on the GI Bill, receiving a diploma in Business Administration.  She also earned an AA from Allan Hancock College.  Jean retired from the Pentagon in October of 1988 after 30 years with the US Government – Civil Service as an Executive Secretary; however, she also worked for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense and Navy Budget Offices within the Pentagon.  Jeannie always had a love of travel, accepting assignments overseas in Korea and then Okinawa, which opened the portal to an exciting life abroad, further enhancing her wanderlust.  Never forgetting those she served along side of, she remained a life long supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  To her credit most of her former bosses kept in contact with her throughout the years.  They understood that she was the “Original” - Adept Woman behind the Successful Man.
Jeannie being an avid golfer, retired in Sun City Center, Florida (South of Tampa) and joined the Caloosa Greens Ladies Golfers, often ranking high in the local golf stats; a seasoned square dancer she has belonged to many circles, first stepping out with the Bachelors & Bachelorettes in Lompoc/Santa Maria, California and later twirling with the Sun City Center Swingers at home in Florida; Jean’s sorority membership began as a BSP in 1971 – joining an Exemplar Chapter, Xi Omicron Tau and then served in numerous capacities at various chapters throughout the years, until she became a member of her local Perceptor Epsilon Upsilon in Sun City Center.
She is survived by her three children; daughter Sabrina A. Sloat, son-in-law David and grandson Spencer of Reno, Nevada; daughter Sabra Dea Buchanan and granddaughter Ashzra Dea of Coronado, California; dearly loved son Kit I. Buchanan of Burlington, Vermont; brother Jay Louis Trombley – “Family Patriarch” – of Barre, Vermont; sister-in-laws and friends Pauline Manosh & Vicki Maitre of Morrisville, Vermont; and many cherished nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her beloved father and mother Joseph Louis & Wilma Marie Trombley; adored grandmother Mildred “Cushing” Jackson; “Brother” Joseph Richard Trombley – “Keeper of the Homestead”; brother Dean Lloyd Trombley – “Dean The Dream”; and the “Love of her Life” Albert “Huck” Buchanan, whom now holds her in love’s eternal embrace.
Mom encouraged us; her children, to be strong and confident, enabling us to express ourselves freely and be heard.  She loved life and embraced it head-on with finesse and gusto!!  Mom inspired everyone; through example, to grasp the reigns of life and never hesitate when a road block presents itself, but to reroute and “Go For It” – Mom’s Motto.
As per Mom’s request there will be no official ceremony. Her ashes will be scattered at the family burial site, within the gates of Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville, Vermont.
