The life of Jane Cheevers, legendary director of Sun City Center’s annual Follies show, will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday, September 7 at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe church south of SR 674 on Route 301. As a professional dancer and choreographer, she brought her talent to Sun City Center in 1991 and for nearly two decades was the guiding force behind the community’s largest entertainment event. Under her direction, the Follies gained a reputation as the premier showcase for song, dance and comedy. An award has been established in Jane Cheevers’ name for the outstanding performer in each year’s Follies show. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pelican Players Scholarship Fund and mailed to P.O. Box 5142, Sun City Center, Fl 33571.
