Joseph C. Eppich

July 10, 1918 – September 4, 2012

Joseph C. Eppich, 94, of Sun City Center, Fla passed away September 4, 2012 at Life Path Hospice House. He was born July 10, 1918 in Cleveland, OH and lived there all of his life until he and his wife, Mary moved to Sun City Center in 1980. Joe worked at Danly Machine Company all of his adult life. He served in World War II for three years in the U.S. Navy Seabees in the European and South Pacific Theatres. In Sun City Center, he volunteered for the Security Patrol, the Emergency Squad as a Captain and driver; Sun City Ride as driver and volunteered with LifePath Hospice with his wife, visiting patients in their homes and at Hospice House. Joe was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, serving as a Bereavement Minister and a greeter at the church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe enjoyed playing golf, bridge, pinochle and dancing. He loved life, family and enjoyed making people smile. Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary and his two older sisters. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Pettersson-Eppich; his daughter, Beverly (Dennis) Hughes of St Petersburg, Fla.; his son, Joseph (Connie) Eppich of Shelby Township, MI and his grandson, Christopher Joseph Hughes. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept 8, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 16650 US 301 South, Wimauma, Fla. Burial with Military Honors was at Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, Fla 33573.
