Raymond T. Valentine

May 30, 1933 – October 28, 2012

</span><br />Raymond Thomas (Ray) (Ray/Ray), 79, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at home in Sun City Center, FL. Ray was born May 30, 1933. He was the youngest of six children born at home in Plymouth, CT.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Anna (Ollie) Valentine; brothers Jimmy Valentine, Bobby Valentine and Ed Valentine.</p>
<p>Ray leaves behind two sisters, Vivian Miller of Wilmington, NC, and Jane Kasper of Terryville, CT, and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>He was active in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954; Virginia State Police from 1955-1964; and the U.S. Federal Government, 1965-89, retired.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beverly; a blended family of son William H. Valentine (Capt. U.S.N. Ret.) (Sue) of Alexandria, VA; daughter Deborah Valentine of Harriman, TN; step-daughters Michelle L. DeMaio (Eugene) of Willington, CT; Dawnn R. Turner (Paul) of Columbia, SC; and stepson Scott C. Kramer (Amy) of Elgin, SC.<br />He also leaves five grandchildren: James Valentine (Nicole), Benjamin Valentine (Shannon), Justin De Maio (Gen), Ashleigh Turner, and Ryan Turner; and several great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Ray was a member of the Caloosa Golf and Country Club for many years. He was an avid golfer all of his life until health issues challenged his game.<br />Service will be private at the family&rsquo;s convenience.</p>
