Earl Clarence King
July 15, 1930 – January 24, 2013
</span><br />Earl Clarence King, 82, a resident of King’s Point, Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2013. Earl was born on July 15, 1930 in Riegelsville, PA where he was raised and attended Easton High School in Easton, PA. </p>
<p>He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Princeton (CV-37) as an aircraft mechanic and plane captain. After returning from war, Earl moved to Long Island, NY to raise a family. He worked in the aircraft industry, was an automotive machinist, and a boat yard owner. </p>
<p>He obtained a bachelor’s degree from New York Institute of Technology, using the degree to pursue a career in education. He dedicated over 20 years instructing vocational students, giving them knowledge to succeed in automotive technology, diesel engine repair, and boat and small engine maintenance and repair careers. </p>
<p>Earl loved the water, and boating was a joy of his for many years. He dearly loved to travel and cherished his travel experiences, whether it was through RVing, road trips, flying to vacation spots, or taking cruises with family and friends. He always strived to keep learning and during his retirement years, took coursework to become a paramedic and served on the Sun City Center Emergency Squad.</p>
<p>He dedicated himself to seeing consumer rights were upheld by serving as an arbitrator for the State of Florida Office of the Attorney General’s Lemon Law program. <br />He is preceded in death by his wife Christine King, parents Clarence and Helen King, and sister Lorraine. Earl is survived by his loving fiancée Mary Holton; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Penny King; step-children Mary Lee Millheiser-Benson, Kenneth and Michael Millheiser; grandchildren Cody King, Nova Millheiser, and Gina Benson; and brother Donald King.</p>
<p>Service and burial will be at a later date at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Sayville, NY. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home.</p>
